Adam O'Neill
A survivor of the untamed bushland of rural Australia, Adam escaped for the safety of Sydney the day after he graduated high school—a date that happened to coincide with his eighteenth birthday. As so many young people do though, he fell in with a rough crowd. A sword wielding, armor wearing, pipe smoking gang of medieval-battle reenactors. Soon after he met his wife, Chana, he lost the armor but kept the pipe.
Shortly thereafter, Adam combined his love of the pipe with a new found passion, photography, which is how we found him and dragged him, kicking and screaming through customs, to South Carolina. We're glad we did, too: Adam began his career with us as a copywriter before making the transition to photography, and not long after that he combined the two roles to become our full-time Social Media Specialist.

J'ai réalisé en 2016 sur le site américain que nous avions amassé un nombre considérable d'images, dont certaines mettent à l'honneur des réalisations de pipiers spécifiques tandis que d'autres appartiennent à la catégorie "lifestyle", plus générale. Une fois que nous les avons publiées sur les réseaux sociaux ou utilisées dans un e-mail promotionnel, ces images reposent dans des disques durs et prennent la poussière numérique, privées de toute utilité, ce qui est fort dommage au regard du temps et des efforts qui leur ont été consacré. Afin donc qu'elles ne soient pas perdues, nous avons souhaité les rendre disponibles en tant que fonds d'écran.

Nel 2016 ci siamo resi conto di aver accumulato sul nostro sito americano un cospicuo numero di immagini, alcune su specifici pipemakers, altre sotto la più generica categoria 'lifestyle'. Dopo aver svolto il loro compito sui social, queste foto sedevano nei driver accumulando polvere digitale e non avendo nessuna funzione precisa, un peccato considerando tutti gli sforzi e il tempo spesi. Dato che non volevamo si perdessero, abbiamo deciso di metterle a disposizione come sfondi desktop.

En la página web de EE.UU., en 2016, me di cuenta que habíamos acumulado una cantidad considerable de imágenes, algunas de las cuales eran específicas de los creadores, otras estaban más en la categoría general de 'estilo de vida'. Sin embargo, una vez que los usamos para las redes sociales, se quedaron en varias memorias USB recolectando polvo digital y sin ningún propósito real, lo cual fue algo vergonzoso considerando el tiempo y el esfuerzo invertidos. Como no queríamos que se desperdiciaran después de haber cumplido sus diversos propósitos, decidimos seguir adelante y ponerlos a disposición como fondos de escritorio.

Over on the US site, back in 2016, I realised we'd amassed a considerable number of images, some of which were specific to makers, some of which were more in the general 'lifestyle' category. Once we'd used them for social media though, they sat around in backup drives collecting digital dust and serving no real purpose — which was somewhat of a shame considering the time and effort expended. Not wanting them to go to waste after they'd served their various purposes, we decided to go ahead and make them available as desktop backgrounds.

Molti degli aspetti della mia vita che mi stanno a cuore sono attribuibili a una domanda all'apparenza retorica: "Perché no?". Retorica solo in apparenza, dato che spesso me lo chiedo davvero ("Oh, non riesci a pensare a un solo motivo per cui dire di no? Be', è questo il punto."). Dalla festa per l'inaugurazione di una nuova casa a cui andai con riluttanza e dove incontrai mia moglie, al campeggio a cui presi parte con una certa ansia insieme a un un gruppo di tipi strambi armati e corazzati, e durante il quale mi avvicinai per la prima volta alla pipa, devo dire che seguire la corrente ha davvero funzionato alla grande per me.
