Adam O'Neill
A survivor of the untamed bushland of rural Australia, Adam escaped for the safety of Sydney the day after he graduated high school—a date that happened to coincide with his eighteenth birthday. As so many young people do though, he fell in with a rough crowd. A sword wielding, armor wearing, pipe smoking gang of medieval-battle reenactors. Soon after he met his wife, Chana, he lost the armor but kept the pipe.
Shortly thereafter, Adam combined his love of the pipe with a new found passion, photography, which is how we found him and dragged him, kicking and screaming through customs, to South Carolina. We're glad we did, too: Adam began his career with us as a copywriter before making the transition to photography, and not long after that he combined the two roles to become our full-time Social Media Specialist.

I've recently come to the conclusion that house guests — much like gases — will expand to fill the space allowed them. Unlike gases though, they're not so easily compressed.

Une grande partie de ce que je chéris dans ma vie est attribuable à la question apparemment rhétorique "pourquoi pas ?" (rhétorique seulement en apparence car, la plupart du temps, je me le demande sincèrement). Rencontrer celle qui est devenue ma femme à l'occasion d'une pendaison de crémaillère où j'avais accepté de me rendre à contrecœur ; participer anxieusement à un camp de vacances où se réunissait une bande d'excentriques armés et cuirassés et m'y initier à la pipe ; finir par suivre le conseil de postuler à un emploi à quinze mille kilomètres de chez moi et ainsi débuter ma carrière au sein de Smokingpipes, pour enfin changer à nouveau de continent et mener aujourd'hui une agréable vie en Irlande ; autant d'exemples qui illustrent le fait que suivre le courant m'a jusqu'ici plutôt réussi.

Di recente sono giunto alla conclusione che gli ospiti, un po' come i gas, tendono a espandersi ma, a differenza di questi ultimi, non non sono così facilmente comprimibili.

J'en suis récemment venu à la conclusion que les invités - à l'instar des gaz - ont tendance à se répandre pour remplir l'espace qui leur est alloué. Contrairement aux gaz, cependant, ils ne sont pas si aisément compressibles.

Much of what I hold dear in my life eventuated from the only seemingly rhetorical question "why not?". Only seemingly rhetorical because most of the time I'm genuinely asking ("Oh, you can't think of a single reason why not? Well I guess this is what we're doing now."). From somewhat begrudgingly agreeing to go to a housewarming party where I met my now wife, to nervously attending a camping trip with a bunch of armed and armoured weirdos where I originally took up the pipe, just going with the flow has been pretty good to me.

Gran parte de todo lo que aprecio en mi vida ha surgido de la pregunta en apariencia retórica "¿por qué no?". Solo retórica en apariencia porque la mayoría de las veces la utilizo en serio ("oh, ¿no puedes pensar en una sola razón por la que no? Bueno, supongo que esto es lo que estamos haciendo ahora"). Desde aceptar a regañadientes ir a una fiesta de inauguración de una casa donde conocí a mi ahora esposa, hasta asistir nervioso a una acampada con un grupo de bichos raros con armaduras y espadas donde comenzó mi afición a las pipas, en general dejarme llevar y fluir me ha funcionado bastante bien.

Musei, tour, ristoranti, bar, le dormite obbligatorie sugli enormi e confortevoli letti dell'hotel: sono tanti i must di una vacanza. Per quanto mi riguarda, quello che devo fare assolutamente quando visito una città o un paese nuovi è osservare la gente: cercare un posto in disparte nel mezzo di una strada trafficata e studiare i movimenti dei residenti e dei turisti, e come i due gruppi interagiscono.

Musées, visites, restaurants, bars, confortables et spacieux lits d'hôtel ; autant d'incontournables lorsque vous êtes en vacances. Pour moi cependant, la seule chose que je dois absolument faire quand je découvre une ville ou un pays, c'est de regarder les gens. Trouver un endroit en retrait dans une artère très fréquentée, et juste observer le mouvement des locaux et des autres touristes, et voir comment interagissent les deux groupes.
Standing Out From The Crowd

Museums, tours, restaurants, bars, and the obligatory sleep-in on huge, comfortable hotel beds. There's a lot of "must-dos" when you're on holidays. For me though, the one thing I absolutely have to do when visiting another city or country is people watch. Finding an out-of-the-way spot in an otherwise busy thoroughfare and just watching the movements of both locals and fellow tourists — and how the two groups interact.
